10.06.2025 | Waldner realizes flagship project in Kyrgyzstan: Opening of the Akylman Presidential School

It is with pride and great pleasure that we report on an outstanding international education project that has not only symbolic but also strategic significance for Waldner and German-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of education: the Akylman Presidential School in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

The foundation stone for this groundbreaking project was laid at a high-level meeting between Jochen Früh, CEO of Waldner Holding, and the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic in Bishkek. Both sides agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation in the field of science education and modern laboratory infrastructure.

A significant milestone followed in October 2024 with the official return visit of a Kyrgyz delegation led by the Prime Minister to Munich. One of the items on the agenda was a tour of Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, where Waldner presented its laboratory solutions and demonstrated its expertise.

The Akylman Presidential School is the first visible result of the German-Kyrgyz cooperation – and an impressive one at that. Waldner took on the complete planning and equipping of state-of-the-art laboratories for chemistry, biology, computer science, and robotics. The project sets new standards for future-oriented education in Central Asia and underscores Waldner's leading role in the field of innovative laboratory concepts worldwide.

The grand opening in May 2025 was attended by high-ranking government officials, including the deputy head of the presidential administration and the Kyrgyz Minister of Education. Jochen Früh was also there and gave an official speech. His visit provided an opportunity for further strategic discussions, particularly about the next phase: modernizing the laboratories at five leading Kyrgyz universities.

Special thanks go to Dr. Gabriela Guellil, the German ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, who actively supported the initiative from the outset, helped organize numerous discussions, and also attended the school's grand opening.

This project exemplifies the power of education as a bridge between nations and once again reinforces Waldner's international reputation for quality, innovation, and partnership-based cooperation. We are proud to be part of this success story and look forward to the next chapters.
